We were deeply saddened to learn that Mrs Sabina Kędziera, the protagonist of one of our Living History Lessons, has passed away. Mrs Sabina was born in 1927 in Majdan Sitaniecki. She was twelve years old when World War II broke out, and the following years of her youth were marked by occupation, forced labour and the dramatic events that took place in her home village and the surrounding area.
We were fortunate to meet Mrs Sabina, listen to her memories and use them as the basis for one of our Living History Lessons. Thanks to her, we were able to share history with young people not only through dates and events, but above all through the experiences of someone who had witnessed them first-hand. We are grateful for our meetings, conversations and the trust she placed in us.
Mrs Sabina, thank you for sharing your story with us. It will remain with us and with future participants of our Living History Lessons.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mrs Sabina’s family and loved ones.
